Hey! It's me again!

So, here I am up at Barbi's house...all by myself. She had to work today, but the ONLY day she had to work while I am here. I am using the time to sit around, make some more cards, use the computer and just bum. I can't believe how much cooler it is up here in Barnum than it is in St. Paul.

Things on Sunday went fine, had a good time. As it was, there was a fill in minister and he said that they could indeed renew their vows so they did! It was so nice to be a part of it all, I felt just like I was a member of the family. The reception was a blast! All they had for food was salads but the cake itself was really good. I also got a chance to talk with Grandma Warnest and she was really happy to see me too. Monday we didn't really do much of anything. Played with Axle and just sort of sat around all day doing whatever, I don't even REMEMBER the day! Last night we went to see Shrek 2...good movie!

Tomorrow is my last day up here then I head back home. I am thinking we will leave in the morning but who knows. I have been sleeping until at least 11 AM and chances are we won't get going until sometime around noonish! lol Right now there are no real plans for tomorrow but we'll just have to wait and see.

For those of you who are reading this in replacement of chatting with me... I MISS YOU! Can't wait to chat again with you when I get home! Gotta go now, take care all and have a good day!

Sunday, June 20...Father's Day(actually written VERY late Saturday night and it is now EARLY Sunday morning...)

Hey y'all!

What an eventful day! It all began getting up EARLY...well, for me at least. It all began at about 7 AM and yes, I am still up at 11PM to write this lovely journal entry.

As y'all know from the previous entry, Dad brought a baby bird into our house last night. The sweet little guy didn't even make so much as a "peep' all through the night and into the morning. I did get a chance to warn Mom though just in case. hee hee Anywho, as this morning rolled around Dad got up and made a few calls. It turns out, there is a place about 10 minutes away to take baby birds and other less fortunate wildlife. (side note here, by less fortunate I mean separated from their family or something...NOT dead!) Soooooo, I went upstairs to get him, or her...is there a way to tell?, and on the way down he jumped out and landed right at Mom's feet! Good thing she stopped right away and didn't step on the poor little fella! So, Dad and I got into the car and headed on our way, had the container covered with a hat to prevent it from jumping out again! HEE HEE When we got there we handed the bird over and sat and waited. The kind lady there said that we did the best thing and Dad was feeling MUCH better now! She gave us a card and we can contact them whenever we want to find out how he/she is doing and they will send us a card letting us know when they will be releasing it into the wild again! Is that like totally cool or what?

When we got home we made up a grocery list and then went shopping. Not too much exciting happened there I'll tell ya! LOL The only thing that was different was buying food for just the two of them and not me! I guess I will get to go through the whole shopping thing again with Barbi sometime...not sure just when though!

The next thing in my agenda for the day was going out with Mom. First we stopped at a newer thrift store to look for a red hat for her (don't ask questions as I will prob mention why in a later entry here). Nope, no luck, so we stopped over at White Castle and she got a bite to eat. The stupid people there! They didn't tell her the total and when we pulled up to the window BOTH people that came to the window said "3 cheeseburgers and a water, right?" like they had no idea if that was what we had ordered or not! All I can say is, when in that neighborhood you never know WHAT is gonna happen. HEE HEE

So, we then headed to the Goodwill to see if they had anything and of course...NO RED HAT! However, Mom did manage to find a pair of sandals to wear since she has to wear open toe shoe right now and I found a book along with some stickers for the kids. Some homeless bum (at least that's what he looked like) asked my Mom if he could buy a cigarette from her and when she told him no he freaked out! He just about got into her face and asked her why she looked at him like he was a parasite. She didn't even look at him in the first place! Goes to show, another FINE example of why you don't hang out on this particular street alone if you are a woman.

Our next and final destination was where we had PLANS to stop. Mom had an appointment to get her hair cut at the Aveda Institute over by the U of M campus in Mpls. She went there a couple of weeks ago to get highlights in her hair and it cost about half the price of the hair salon she usually goes to. Well, when it came her turn, we headed upstairs to where they give the cuts and whatnot. When the chicks supervisor or whatever came over she told me that I would have to wait downstairs, no reason why, just because that is their policy I guess. To keep a long story short, so that I can get to bed here, it took 1 1/2 HOURS to cut her hair! And to top it off, the cut and style didn't look anywhere NEAR what she had wanted! Poor Mom, they also kept asking her if she ever considered getting highlights! Says a lot for the students there I guess that they couldn't even tell that she already HAD them in her hair!

So, what a day I had. And on top of all that, I still had to DECIDE what to bring up to Barbi's, pack to go to Barbi's, do a bunch of stuff on the computer, cook dinner, wash my hair, make a Father's Day card, gather a bunch of other cards to send, bake cookies, spend some time with the dogs, UUUGGGHHHH! I can't believe I got it all done with a little time to spare to write here!

Okay, okay, I think I need to get off and try to go to bed. I just hope that I remember all my last little things to throw in tomorrow before I go. Her folks are gonna be here at 10 AM to pick me up and I have no idea what time we are eating so I have to make sure and grab a bite before hand, not TOO much though! So, until I find the time to write again...

Tally-ho and toodle-loo! Ready now? Noble chin, chests out, tummy in. Make a fracas! Have a fling! Drop a postcard! Give a ring! Whoop-de-do and ba-da-bing!

Hey there, me again!

Today was pretty bland. I spent most of it doing laundry so that I would have some clean clothes (and suitable too hee hee) to bring up to Barbi's on Sunday. I still think it is odd that O would be leaving the house to go away for 5 days ON Father's Day! That's okay, my Dad understands. It's not like we do a lot for the occasion anyways, we might have gone out to eat and they still may without me. BOO HOO I guess that is the price I have to pay for going away!

We actually had the door open again today INSTEAD of having the AC on. There was such a nice breeze coming in the windows and the sun was actually out! I am afraid that all these nice days are gonna lead up to a bunch of rain. From what I overheard on the news earlier was that it is supposed to rain again most of next week! I guess the good thing there is that it will give the AC's here in the house a break. Mom actually came home today from work complaining that it was cold! Silly Mom, I loved it and so did the dogs.

We ate out for dindin. I didn't even have to say where I wanted to go to the folks, they knew. Right now the McDonald's Happy Meal toys are Neopets, which I play (and you should check out the site if you are into cute little creatures and online games...www.neopets.com) and there are quite a few that I want but don't have. They are even nice enough to get the Mighty Kids Meals so that I can get more than the one toy. The bad thing...you can't tell from the bags what color you got so I got doubles of the same color..DAMN IT! lol

So, since the TV season is on to reruns I went upstairs again tonight to clean up some junk I have been meaning to get to for quite some time. I came back down at 9PM to watch the movie "The Others" because Mom didn't want to watch it at 7. I put the dogs out at their usual time and when it came time to bring them back in Brandy, being the stinker that he is, WOULDN'T come in. I was not about to miss the movie so I just left him out there. Well, Dad went out to get him and when he and the dog came in he had a surprise. Now, what I am about to say may sound mean but really, it was better this way.

In his hands he was carrying what caused Brandy to not come in. Apparently there was a baby bird in the yard! Dad saw it hopping, trying to get away from Brandy and the best solution was to bring it into the house. The poor little guy just sat in his hand, not really scared or anything. We sat there trying to figure out what the best thing to do would be. Finally, I went online (good old internet) to see what I could find out. I came across some site, can't tell ya what it was any more, and it had the answers to all of our questions! So, to end this saga, the bird is right now in a rubbermaid container with a washcloth, sleeping right now upstairs in my room. All I can think is if it will start chirping in the morning and make Mom wonder what the hell is going on! Oh, and I will be sleeping down on the couch tonight, don't need it waking me up at dawn! In the morning Dad will call and find out if there is anywhere we can bring it so it can survive, I'll let ya know what we find out.

Well, that is the story of my life today. Now I am gonna go play some games to unwind and then hit the sack, not too hard hee hee. Tomorrow is another day!
WOO HOO!
Okay, before you read on, just wanted to voice that I was unable to post here the other night due to the site being a pain in the rear! So, I went to another site and posted there so I will repost that here...
Friday, June 18, 2004Hello, hello, HELLO! (kinda like donkey from Shrek 2...Are we there yet? Are we there yet? ARE WE THERE YET?!?!)

I was upstairs in my room earlier tonight just sitting back, making cards and listening to the radio when I heard some great news. Apparently Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson and Blue County are gonna play at the MN State Fair this year...all on the same night! WOO HOO! I love Blue County, partially because the one guy in it...Scott Reeves...use to be on a soap opera I watch and is married to a gal on the one I still do! I also really like the ladies that will be singing but it was the Blue County that got me excited. I immediately went downstairs to email my brother and see if he would possibly want to go. I haven't heard back from him yet but I am really hoping he says yes.

This Sunday I am gonna go to my best friends Grandparents 50th Anniversary party (I got that right didn't I Barbi?) and then continue on to her house for about a week. They were going to renew their vows at church but now due to various reasons that has changed...so tell me Barbi, WHY are we still going to the church then? I feel so much like one of the family and they make me feel welcome so I don't mind, bring it on!

The hardest part about going up to Barbi's for these extended stays is leaving my dogs at home. They are the biggest, sweetest things and it is just so hard to be away from them. Last time we tried to bring Brandy with but her dog is too obnoxious yet and the two of them just did NOT get along! SOOOOOOO that means that Brandy will have to stay home this time, and Bailey isn't even a consideration because he would most likely hurt Axle.

Well, I got my book in the mail the other day. I am reading Alison Sweeney's book, she plays Sami on Days of Our Lives. I had a friend from a yahoo group I am in get the book for me AND have Ali sign it! Isn't that nice of her? I am almost done with the book and I think it is a must have for fans of Ali as well as teenage girls.

Okay, I think I got out most of what I wanted to say and not forget. Hope anybody that is reading this and has NO clue of who I am enjoyed it as well as my friends that I sent the link to. Feel free to comment as I don't take anything personally....although I should since this is all about ME!

IT'S ME AGAIN! HA HA HA AND YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD GET AWAY!

SO, I never imagined last night when I was writing that I would actually get around to updating today but here I am!

I was up until about 3:30 AM (I think that was the time) chatting with my good pals Jen and Rhonda. I sent them the link to my page here and they were both like...."uh, what is a BLOG?" SO I guess you could say I introduced them to this fun world!

SO, I told you about Saturday and Sunday but I never filled you in about Friday night. You see, Mom, Chris and I had dinner with an old friend of ours. Mom and I ran into him at the casino a few months back and we haven't gotten together since then. Before that it was YEARS that we had seen each other. He used to work with my Mom and Chris and then me but then we went our separate ways and that lead to not seeing each other anymore.

I will tell you right away, we AREN"T exactly angels either. One of the main reasons we wanted to get together with him was to get the scoop on why his marriage failed. If other topics came up as well, so be it. It was decided we would meet at Old Country Buffet and that was that.

I won't bore you with details of what we ate, who sat where, or crap like that. I will fill you in on what we found out though! HE HE

My Mom, being the bold self that she is, straight out asked him what happened. I think he turned as red as the nail polish that Chris had on! Apparently she was a case of "boys on the side" and about a month after they got married he found out that she had another guy the whole time. Talk about a BITCH! So, to keep a story short, just like he did, they were married for 2 months, separated for about a year....and then divorced. I guess we found out what we wanted to!

In some of the other chit chat he overheard me talking to Chris about my brothers twins and thought I was talking about my OWN twins! I just laughed hysterically at him. There is no way I could have twins let alone one kid!

All and all it was fun and we stayed there for 3 hours! I guess time flies when you are having fun!

A day at the Ballpark...By Smooferz

Okay, so I have learned one thing this past Sunday, do not go to a baseball game with 5 year old children unless you don't mind missing half of the game.

It all started when I got up on Saturday morning, yes, IN THE MORNING for those of you who know me! I walked into the livingroom and the first thing my Mom said to me was "Do you want to go to the Twins game tomorrow?" I was shocked, we never do things like that spare of the moment. Then she went into how the first 5,000 kids 14 and under got a free autographed bat and Dad sounded like he really wanted to go. I told her sure, why not, and then she tried to call my brother to see if this was one of those freebie things that you needed to stay overnight for. Needless to say she didn't get a hold of him and we just went though the day changing from going to not going. Finally at night fall Mom was like "how bad do you want the bat?" and I was like "It doesn't really matter to me" (even though I was really looking forward to going) and she said "okay, I think we will just stay home then". A short bit after Mom went to bed the phone rang and it was my brother. Dad failed to answer it so I had to call him back on his cel phone. I guess he was looking forward to going and wanted to surprise the twins with the fact that we would be there also. I told him I would work on Mom and have her call him in the morning to let him know what we decided. I guess sometime during the day while Dad and I were gone she had talked to him and told him we were thinking about going and all about the free bats. So, on that note is was reswitched back to us going and meeting my brother and the kids there. Mom was gonna take the bus over and get there early but since she missed it we all headed out and went to the game.

The game was scheduled to start at 1:15 but since there were the free bats, and we wanted to get one, we headed out at 10 AM, yes, I know, 3 hours BEFORE the game! Another reason we left early is because the main way to get there was closed for construction and we had to find an aternate route. Wouldn't you know it, our alternate route was closed for construction also! We followed the detour signs and finally made it there by 10:30. We didn't know where to buy the tickets so we walked ALL THE WAY around the Dome looking for a ticket booth. When we had made a complete circle we ran into my brother and he let us know were to get the tickets. I just stood with him, while they went to get the tickets, and talked with him. It seems like he got to the Dome at the same time as us, started at the gate next to ours and walked all the way around the other way! That means we must have passed them on the way around! We then stood in the line for about a half an hour until they opened, good thing it wasn't TOO hot. And yes, for those of you who are wondering, I did get one of the bats that was for the 14 and under crowd! Hee Hee the joys of looking young!

So, we got in then and sat down. I looked and thought to myself, gosh, only 2 hours until the game starts! It was at that time that I actually enjoyed having the kids there to entertain us and gve us something to do. By time the game started though they were getting really bored and bugging us to no end. By the time the 5th inning had come around they kept asking us "Is it over yet?" and "Are you gonna run the bases with us afterwards?". I guess after every Sunday game they let the fans down unto the field with their kids and let the kids run around the bases, parents can acompany them if they would like. I told them that I would have to stand off to the side and hold their stuff or else someone would take it and they agreed to let me do so, THANK GOD! I never realized how far around the field is (they make you walk from the very far end of the third base foul line to the first base to get to the running of the bases) and how hard it would be to climb back up all the steps after doing that! I really do need to get into shape of some kind in case that happens again this summer. Needless to say the kids had a fun time I think and I guess you could say I did too, really!

-side note...the Twins lost the game 3-2 to the Phillidelphia Phillies who my nephew Zach has renamed the "Chillies" not knowing what their real name was! Kids can be so cute.

That's it from me for today. i should write myself a post it note ot keep by the computer to remind myself to update this more often! Have a jolly day now!

How I spent My Memorial Dat Weekend....by Smooferz

The weekend really started on Thursday, hence Mom went away to one of my cousins graduations. I wasn''t feeling 100% so I stayed home passing on the opportunity to get to meet Mary Crowe, who lives in the town that my mother grew up in. Hopefully there will be another opportunity later this summer. Instead I stayed home and chilled out with Dad and the dogs. Oh, and it rained most of the day.

Early Friday morning is when all the nonstop rain began. We had a DAY full of rain, rain, and yep, you guessed it, MORE RAIN! Actually, the rain did stop for a while at about 3 and didn't start up again until that evening...about 8:30. When Dad got home from work we went to McDonalds for supper. I am so wanting the Happy Meal toys right now that I made Dad get one too! LOL

After supper we went downtown St. Paul. As a tribute to the late Charles Schultz (creator of the peanuts comic) St. Paul does these 'statues' around the town. This was the last installment of them and they were of Snoopy and Woodstock ontop of Snoopy's doghouse. I took a few pictures of them and we went back home.

To end the evening we settled to watch "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" and just be lazy. Well, I was headed out to the kitchen and noticed a strnage man 'hoovering' over the neighbor lady across the streets car. He called back to his wife who then wrote soemthing down. Being curious, I continued to watch as they went between our house and the house behind us and wrote yet something else and did the same for a house down the street, When they got about a block away I just HAD to know so I went out, walked to catch up with them and asked what they were doing. Turns out they are new to the neighborhood and were writing down phone numbers for the different garbage companys! LOL

The weekend was pretty blah. The usual grocery shopping on Satyrday and then, yes, ate at McDonalds for supper again. Dad actually went to get chow mein for himself so I only got one toy this time. Yes, it did rain ALL day again and there were flash flood warnings for southern MN were my Mom was, weather everywhere in the midwest was bad. Sunday was clear for a little while but not too long. I played a Playstation game that I borrowed from Barbi to see what it is like called '40 Winks', pretty cute game but not too extremely easy. Mom got home late and told us that she had to drive on a highway that was flooded and asked us what happened here. We didnt know what she was talking about since all it did was rain.

Monday Mom still had the rental car so we did a bunch of errands and such. I am glad that I didn't have to listen to the noises the car made like she did all weekend!

Tuesday I had a doctors appointment, nothing major, just a checkup. We then had to pick up Dad from work and all I can say is that I feel sorry for him. I would not want to work there under the conditions. The shelves are pretty much empty and the clientel is NOTHING to brag about.

So, all and all the weekend wasn't really anything special yet I had a okay time doing everything.
